What we collect, and why

If you buy the book

We store your name, email address and phone number, and the record of your order. The email address is what your files are sent to, so we cannot deliver the product without it. Payment is handled entirely by toyyibPay. We never see or store your card number or your online banking credentials.

If you request a proposal

We store what you type into the inquiry form, so we can reply to it and prepare a proposal.

If you register interest in a workshop

We store your name and email address. It is kept so we can tell you when a date is set, and for nothing else. Registrations made before September 2026 may also hold a phone number and a note about what you were preparing for, if you gave them. You are not added to any other mailing, and the list is not shared with anyone. Ask us to remove you at any time and it goes immediately.

If you use the resume review

We store your name, email address and phone number, and the record of your order and payment. Payment is handled by toyyibPay; we never see your card or banking details. toyyibPay requires the phone number to create the payment. It is not used to call you.

When you send your resume, the file and your answers are stored on our web server with Hostinger, in private storage that is not reachable from the web, and only the owner can open them after signing in. Your answers and a copy of your resume file are also emailed to Ferhan’s business mailbox, which is hosted by Hostinger, so that he has the whole case in one place. Our emails to you and Ferhan’s replies stay in that mailbox as the record of your review. The site’s nightly database backup, which includes your answers but not the file, is kept on the server for two weeks and a copy is emailed weekly to the same mailbox.

Ferhan reads your resume and edits it himself. When your work is outside his experience, he may use a third-party AI tool to help him understand your industry, job scope and terminology. That can include entering text from your resume or your answers, and sometimes the whole document, into that tool. Those providers have their own terms and may retain what is sent to them. If you would rather your resume was not used this way, tell us when you send it and we will work from your written description instead. The website itself never sends anything to an AI service, and nothing about your resume is decided by one.

Your resume and answers are kept for 90 days after your review is completed, then deleted from the server. You can ask for them to be deleted sooner by writing to us, and we will delete the copies in our mailbox at the same time. The order and payment record, which holds your name, email, phone number and what you paid, is kept for as long as Malaysian tax rules require.

The free checklist and the Companion

Neither page sends anything anywhere. Your answers are saved in your own browser's local storage and never leave your device. There is no account, no tracking script, and no analytics on either page. Clearing your browser data clears your answers, and nobody else can recover them.

Who else sees it

toyyibPay, to take the payment. Our hosting and email provider, Hostinger, to store the site and deliver the message. For the resume review, an AI tool Ferhan uses for research, as described above. Nobody else. We do not sell or share personal data, and we do not send marketing you did not ask for.

Getting it removed

Write to ferhanjohar@boldshiftadvisory.com and ask. We keep order records for as long as Malaysian tax rules require, and delete the rest.
